PARABLE OF THE DAY

This parable was re-told by Martin Buber.

Rabbi Susya, who had long been a pious man, became fearful as death drew near.

His friends chided him, "Why are you afraid? Do you think you'll be reproached by God for not having been Moses?" they asked Rabbi Susya.

"No," Rabbi Susya replied. "I am afraid I will be reproached by God for not having been Rabbi Susya."
